Nothing is better than seeing your Rail Gun's name in the news versus a formidable opponent. What do you name yours? Initially I started with R1D2, then R2D2 then R3D2.... now it seems I make it more personable.

Battleships I still keep it classy and go with the default...maybe another forum?

I usually use some (names of) characters from mahabharata, ramayana, greek, norse, etc.

Shelldrake, Steel Rain, & Shooting Stars are my typical RG names, BB names are usually Ironside, Starlight, & Aurora. Anything built beyond those names is after Greek/Roman gods, titans, or mythical creatures.
