Daily Spin Removed?

Does anyone one know why the daily spin feature was removed? I found that to be a very handy and enjoyable feature. The only reason I can think of is gambling but I'm not entirety sure.

The spin wheel was removed as it was a broken feature. The Devs have stated they are trying to figure a feature to have a daily reward.
