Title: Open Letter: The Integrity of Seasonal Rankings and Rewards
Body:
Dear Bytro Team and Developers,
The seasonal ranking and its rewards are a truly great idea that encourages players to play more. However, it is slowly destroying the game, and this process must at least be controlled.
This letter is written not only on my behalf, but on behalf of a group of dozens of players with whom I have been playing for a long time. Together we have invested — and continue to invest every month — huge amounts of money into this game. Many of us have heroes of all levels. And what we see now disgusts us.
We have several critical questions that need to be addressed:
1. Do you stand for fair play?
The game is built on strategy and competition. But right now, the seasonal leaderboards are being corrupted by players using obvious grey-area schemes (multiple accounts, account pushing, etc.).
2. Why are blatant cheaters rewarded?
It feels like you are handing out the biggest rewards to players who manipulate the system, while honest players are left behind. We recently saw a case where a player complained that another player was spotted using 11 fake accounts to boost their ranking. Yet the moderators claimed there was "not enough evidence" to take action. Why are these people being rewarded for cheating?
3. What is the message to honest players?
How are we supposed to feel? We invest our time, real money, and strategic effort into this game. Why should we bother competing when someone who is clearly "spinning" points without even trying to hide it easily overtakes us? You are devaluing the effort of your most loyal player base.
4. If you can't control it, why start it?
If the developers are unable to properly organize, monitor, and guarantee the fairness of an event of this scale, perhaps the question must be asked: should this seasonal event even exist? Maybe it shouldn't have been started in the first place if you cannot protect its integrity.
5. Our concrete demand: Audit the Top 10
We believe that, at the very minimum, the Top 10 players of the seasonal ranking must be thoroughly audited for cheating. If they are using fake accounts to artificially inflate their scores and secure high rewards, this must be exposed.
6. Personal experience and harsh reality
In the first season of the ranking, I managed to reach the Top 50 through honest play. Back then, there were no obvious signs of system manipulation. In the current season, playing exactly the same amount of time and putting in the same effort, I barely made it into the Top 300. The reason is obvious: on the very first day, people started farming points by killing heroes on their own multi-accounts, gaining a huge amount of ranking points in a short time. It was physically impossible to keep up with them, even by playing 10 games simultaneously.
7. Losing loyal paying players
My account is over 5 years old. I buy all battle passes, premium accounts, and Goldmark. I invest real money into this game. But seeing this situation with unfair point farming and moderator inaction, I no longer have the desire to continue doing so. You are losing a loyal paying customer because of a handful of cheaters.
8. We write on behalf of a group. There are dozens of us. We want fairness.
We are a group of dozens of players. We have been playing together for a long time and invest huge amounts of money into the game every month. Many of us have heroes of all levels. We buy Goldmark with real money. And when we see that cheaters and dishonest players receive the same huge rewards for free — and will then spend that gold against us, the ones who pay real money — it causes disgust towards the game. We want only one thing: fairness.
Honest players currently feel completely helpless. If nothing is done to create a fair environment, you will lose your loyal player base. Honest players will simply leave the game, and all that will remain are cheaters playing against themselves.
We are asking for transparency. How exactly do you plan to protect honest players and ensure that seasonal rewards are earned fairly? We expect a clear answer from the developers, not just standard automated replies.
Sincerely,
Mr.Kramer and a group of players
