Feature Suggestion: "Ironman" Permadeath and Medal Stakes for Heroes

The Problem:
The current hero system allows players to take highly unrealistic, reckless tactical risks. Because defeated heroes merely trigger a standard cooldown timer, they feel like disposable, arcade-style superheroes rather than actual military commanders in a gritty, high-stakes World War I grand strategy game.

The Solution:
Implement a high-stakes "Ironman" mechanic for heroes across all standard maps:

  1. Per-Match Permadeath: If a hero is killed in a match round, they are permanently dead for that specific round only. They cannot be respawned or placed on the map again until a entirely new game world is joined.

  2. Account-Wide Medal Stakes: To make players truly value their hard-earned assets, dying in a match should cause the hero to lose a portion of their account-wide leveling medals (e.g., losing 10-15% of the progress required for their current level or 20-50 medals for each death).

Why the Community and Developers Will Benefit:

  • Restores WWI Realism: Players will be forced to employ actual historical doctrine, actively screening and protecting their high-ranking generals behind heavy infantry lines rather than using them as solo battering rams.

  • Creates High-Reward Tactical Raids: Sneaking an armored car or a bomber squadron past enemy lines to assassinate an exposed enemy commander would become a legendary, game-changing strategy.

  • Increases Hero Value: A high-level hero will no longer just represent a passive grind; it will serve as definitive proof that the player is an elite tactician capable of keeping vital assets alive under extreme pressure.
