Heroes overhaul
The number and power of heroes are becoming an increasingly significant factor in the game.
The aim isn't to nerf heroes — I understand the business rationale — but to make them more realistic.
Several rules could therefore be implemented:
Each hero only has one life per match! If a hero dies, they cannot be revived and deployed again.
Consequently, players should be able to voluntarily withdraw a hero who is no longer useful (with a withdrawal time equal to 50% of the mobilization time, for example).
Last but not least, a hero's ability to summon troops should only activate upon their first deployment.
If these rules are considered too strict, each could be softened:
Instead of permanent death: A fallen hero could be replaced by a generic, unnamed hero with all stats and abilities reduced by 20% compared to their predecessor. This penalty would accumulate with each successive replacement.
Instead of one-time troop summoning: Heroes could retain their summoning ability upon redeployment, but the number of units summoned would be halved each time (rounded down).
These alternatives would preserve the original intent while making the rules less punishing.
Ultimately, heroes would retain their full potential on the battlefield, but losing them would have lasting consequences. Players would therefore need to think more strategically and avoid throwing their heroes away carelessly.
