Both do same thing 2 stacks will only end war in fewer battle ticks (Faster) RNG or X Factor is involved, so you rlosses could vary according to these duel variations you ask about

with 2 x 20 you have half the risk of a bad roll on damage (random factor) yet 40 hit harder then 2 x 20 normaly would and with 2x 20 one group will get the damage so there are less units to devide the damage to there for it will get killed faster

4 * 10 infs or if you are short on time 8*5 inf

Wait, so dividing units in smaller stacks doesn't lower casualties you take? Doesn't that make β€œflower defense” useless? Or what's the deal then?

What about if I divide my 40 infantry stack into 40 groups of 1?.

You're kinda on the right track. If you divide the stack further, all the above will keep applying just by different factors depending on how much you divide it.

And "the flower" utilizes the defensive bonus the game assigns to the defending stack, or in that case stacks.

Key words are 'ATTACKS' and "DEFENSE", dividing units into 1's you are using a completely different aspect of RNG / X-factor known as "Last Stand" /Lemming dynamic which most do not acknowledge but in my experience definitely exists

Maybe this spread sheet will help https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xhuy2daC-RAWXd2Cw59GIpDrtHWL94-ZDG1NdPnCEic/pubhtml#

THIS DIAGRAM IS ALL THE INFO IN ONE PLACE! You are GREAT MAN, thanks a lot. Considering the info I saw, making a flower with units of 5 does not it makes it stronger on am I wrong?

i do believe there are new attack values coming up through beta where the max attack will be capped at 20 but these guys know more then me the current is 40

I see when click on my troups/stack there is indicator that states that only 20 will do full damage and the rest will do less. So it it, at least best to break up your stacks in to groups of 20?

the optimal stack is 50 it says that because 21 is where the linear drop starts so if your attacking another large stack or fort then yes id keep them in a bigger stack (ie 45-50)

As per the more recent updates, the Flower strategy is not effective anymore. You can still eat up the clock on things like arty by sending one unit at a time within its range to mitigate the damage to a follow on attack.

used to be if you spread a stack that helped damage be distributed more evenly its now in a stacks code for that so no point considering your defense is just lower

Does it make sense with the latest updates attacking in groups of 20 with and defense in a bigger stack?
