1.5 Can't see unit size

I am finishing up on the 1.5 version Test Map.

I was just about to take the German Capital when a unit popped up. The first thing I noticed is that while I have my unit set to Aggressive on the Fire Control, it was not firing. So I targeted it and it is now firing.

The second thing as you can see in the pic is that I can't see what it is. I am presuming it is just a Militia as the only thing the German Capital has is a Barracks. Just the same, it is showing a question mark on the unit even though I am right next to it.

It is common that your own reflexes might have a quicker reaction time than the server due to the rate at which it checks for units within range.

I don't suppose that is a commando which is stealth in 1.5? I haven't encountered any yet so I don't know how they look.

Thank you Varlon,

I was not aware that Commandos were stealth now in 1.5. Checking the Newspaper, you are correct, it was a Commando.

11:29 pm Berlin: The 4th Commando Battalion (Germany) (A 4) has been destroyed after heavy bombardment.

If I may ask, if you have a Commando stacked with other units, would the entire unit be stealth or how would that work?

I will say, with you moving Commandos out of Secret and now being able to build them in any province instead of just your Capital, I will be building Commandos now. I have never really used Commandos due to the cost of research, building costs and that they could only be built from your Capitol. I know many players love their Commandos and I have liked them. I have just found for the distance and cost to get them to build them and get them to the front lines, it just didn't work for my style of play. That will change for me in 1.5.

Appreciate that info.

Commando is stealth unit. :)

you would be able to see the entire stack aside from the commando unit/s, unless you had interceptors or a armoured car near by.

Now sir I am a little confused.

In my stack, I had an Armored Car, 1 Light Tank and 4 Artillery. I could not see the unit and Vorlon explained that Commandos are now stealth in 1.5. You are saying, "unless you had interceptors or a armoured car near by."

Am I reading this correctly and understanding it that......

Commandos are now Stealth except by Armored Cars or Interceptors that are in view site? Now that I think about it though, does it not make sense that every time you see a unit that has a question mark on it that is with in your viewing site, you would just automatically know that it is a Commando? Maybe I am not understanding how this Stealth thingy for Commandos works.

I was almost right on top of it when I saw it so figured it must have just been built by the AI. Yet it had a question moark so I didn't know what it was nor did my Aggressive Setting start firing when it was in range. But I could see the unit, just didn't know what it was and then found out after I destroyed it that indeed it was a Commando.

Can I get a little clarification on this? I don't mean to sound slow or be difficult. Just want to know how to use them.

I'm sorry mate I should have clarified more. Only certain units can reveal stealth units like commandos and subs, if you go into the unit info page look for the "exposes stealth units" where it says their view range etc. For armoured cars only level 3 and up can expose stealth units so if the armoured car you had with your stay was level 1 or 2 that would explain why you weren't able to see it until then.
