I think what you say is a bug or something, because you cannot bypass an army, as to pass thorugh their lines you need to engage and destroy them.
ability to bypass armies
New to game, but the scenario below has happened 3 times in this first game.
Artillery unit behind an land army. Artillery unit fires on target army. The target army either splits, or moves completely, and moves through the land army to attack the artillery unit.
I have now lost 3 x artillery units to land based attacks even though I have kept them out of the frontline.
Can it be confirmed that units should be able to move through other land units?
My simple brain says they shouldn't be able to.

and bollocks ... pardon the language.... but it has happened again.
I do not expect an enemy army to by-pass an infantry army to attack the artillery I have bombarding from "behind the lines" as suggested in the help file.
What point in having them in a fire support role if the enemy can just by-pass the blocking or intercepting army?
Now the fourth time occuring in the first game I have played.
EDIT: and again.
I have seen this bug for quite a while and this is what I think.
I think two armies will not engage each other only if there at war. If two players are neutral towards one another they can bypass their armies so long as they don't plan on "staying". It seems only a direct attack order can both armies engage
So long as you order a unit to move and stay on the road they will be fine in foreign land, yeah is bug is strange.

Ketchup Please. Yes this is one of the things i was going to make a post about and no you are wrong It is happening with the country i am set to war with. I have lost cities due to this. the first time i marched troops down the only path he could take to get to me and set my stack of 5 inf to stop just out of sight of the city and sent one militia to guard the city . This way when i came back on I would be able to take a quick look and decide if to attack or enter from a different direction. in the meantime he must have sent men to attack my city and he to must have left, because when i came back on my 5 were standing there in plan view and he had 3 slightly injured infantry that had possession of my city and territory. this got me thinking that you must actually click attack if you want to attack it. i put it to the test and marched up to his city stopping just out off sight. then when i came back on i marched just to when you can see his troops and troop type. Once I could see the city was empty i click the add march and set the march to go through the city and up to his next city stopping just out of sight. worked just as planned so i wanted to see what would happen if men were there. i made sure that if he watching and wanted to attack me i would crush him and tried marching through an occupied city and i did. i see many ways to use this as an advantage. i know just about his entire troop count is just one way i have already started using it. However as I was going to suggest in my post you should have the option to attack, march, or march silent. After all this is how the entire german army was operating by 1942. They would march mainly by night, only if they had to would they march in the day and vehicles were heavily camouflaged. This kind of march would have a speed penalty, a chance to be discovered, and lose the chance to defend themselves for the first round if discovered by the enemy.

its an old bug, this new thread exists since saturday and not 1 dev is interested in reading and answering it. When u want to play this game u should see this bug as a feature
A bug as a feature? don't think that settle well for me...

Wait until you lose Airplanes the same way...
Thanks for the reply Der Grose Diktator
If this is a 'known' issue/bug/problem, it would have been nice for the moderators/developers/higher beings to at least post a reply acknowledging it as a known problem/issue/bug and throw a link to a list of known/reported issues.
Yes, i'm totally new, but I would have though having an infantry screen in front would protect artillery.
Any ways, is there a list of known bugs which I should treat as features?
BTW, this feature has cost me 5 (and nearly 7) artillery pieces.
at least: for submarines it was fixed in the past, but now someohow it can happen again
This issue will be fixed with highest priority.
