There is an achievement "Close Combat Expert" - kill enemy ground troops. I have killed over a dozen enemy troops, both alone,and with armor. I have killed them with just troops, armor, and artillery. But the number stays at 2 of 5...regardless of how many times I kill enemy troops.
Achievements are only earned against Active players in Ranked Games.
SO if you are attacking AI, or players marked inactive, there will be no achievement.
If the game is not ranked (for whatever reason, such as anti cheat being disabled) then there will be no achievement.
