OK. That should not happen airplanes are airplanes not boats.BladeFisher wrote:

Aircraft on carriers bug when grouping
A way of grouping forces together is to click the mouse and encircle all forces you wish to group.
However there has and still is a long standing issue with aircraft and carriers as when you do this it either wants to send the planes to an airfield on land or leave the planes stuck in the ocean.
I remember once the latter happened to me. A group of planes left drift in the Pacific after its carrier was sunk. Solution, I built another carrier and calmly came back to retrieve them

If their airbase is destroyed, the planes automatically switch to a friendly airport they are still within range from. If there is no such airport or the planes are grounded, they will turn into trucks at the position of their former airbase. That's a feature, not a bug. Though I realize it's a little weird with carriers, it just is so.BladeFisher wrote:

Sidenote, if planes are on a transport you cannot get them on a carrier, you have to send them all the way back to a land airport.
Larger armies destroy enemies faster without taking damage from them.
Build only: 1 military building in each city, airstrips, and recruiting stations to boost manpower.
Minimize research, 2 unit types early, 6 types in late game. Upgrade old units, but: artillery lv1 to lv2 is a waste, only lv1 to lv4 is worth it.
Enjoy

No I get that.
You get the bug with the encircling - grouping future.
