Morning, I have spent 20 days building a huge army ready for invasion. I have just logged on and they have all disappeared with no notifications. There is no way they could have died in an hour. I have reset the game but still nothing although I am capturing areas I sent troops to, I just can’t see them.

The only way I know of is restart the phone. The models I am familiar with you hold the home and lock button down for ten seconds, or until the screen goes black and it begins to restart. I know the newer models don't have a home button, so I don't know about them.

For the phone app:
First thing, which you probably already did: Zoom closer into the map. Units are not displayed when you zoomed too far out.
Second, please check the display settings in the game menu, bottom right corner in the game (first click on "more", then on "settings"). There you have a toggle "display armies". The slider must be black and turned to the right side to see your armies.

have just logged in to the desktop version on my phone and I can see my units. It’s the App that has a fault

Your message shows that you tried to open the settings while you are on the website, but you have to do it when you are in your game round (ingame). So when you are in your game round in the mobile app, click on "more" in the lower right, then on "settings". There you have a menu and the settings to toggle armies on and off.

Yes I can see them now. It took a couple slides one way and the other before they appeared
