anti-aircraft issue

How does the new anti-aircraft system work?I thought that if a plane flies into the range of the A-A system it will be damaged, however, as I stated, this does not apply to the situation in which the plane is set to patrol and then the A-A system does not deal damage to it while being just outside the border of this plane's patrol area (i.e., even though the plane's patrol area is within the range of the A-A system, this plane does not receive damage)

"Any enemy aircraft that attacks friendly units within this range will take a guaranteed hit from the AA, while all enemy planes simply passing through have a chance to take damage as well."

Above is a related content released in the CoW official article. I guess it has excluded patrol, or perhaps the server simply get a lag. I'm not actually sure, simply giving my opinion

The red dot of the plane is their actual location. If the red dot is inside the purple AA circle, the plane is in AA range, and the AA unit can initiate an attack.

The plane can be outside of AA range, but have a blue patrol circle that contains the red dot of the AA unit. That's a separate mechanic that triggers only when the patrol timer expires. This uses the AA unit's defensive stats.

Two different features.

So if I understand correctly, the plane actually patrols while hanging in place like a helicopter and despite this, it can attack targets within a radius of 50 km. Isn't this a ridiculous mechanic, I know it's similar in CoN, but there, if the patrol area touches the A-A range, the plane takes damage and it seems to me that you should follow this path here in this game. Because the Mechanism included in CoN simulates that the plane is moving in the patrol area despite actually hanging in place, thus this mechanism reflects reality and here it is total fiction. Perhaps there should be a percentage chance that the plane will be in the A-A range space depending on the size of the overlap between the A-A range and the patrol area at the moment when A-A could attack, which would result in different damage to this plane. I have an additional question here: does a bomber plane deal the same damage to a target in the middle of its range (i.e. directly under the bomber) and on the edge of the patrol range?

Yes the plane would do the same amount of damage no matter where they are in the circle, as long as they are in the circle.

Why are the circles sometimes different sizes?

Do you mean planes or ground units, because as far as I know the plane patrol has the same size no matter the plane, but certain units have more range, like the railroad gun, which has the most range of all the ground units.
