The description did have random country selection in it. When it says this, it is assumed that everyone who joins knows. This isn't a bug.
Badly described game
I started an anonymous "[Event] Free For All" three days ago (Game #3694025). 98 players started, there was a 24 hour peace period, we've just finished the second day of activity - and 51 players were declared inactive.
I think the way the game was setup was mistaken. Normally I can click on a new game, and look at the countries available and then back out of the game lobby without joining. With this game, as soon I clicked Join Game, I was randomly allocated a country (which was not mentioned in the description) and I was in the game. I didn't expect this, and clearly neither did 50 others.
I enjoy this game because it's PvP, but I'm on a continent that's 2/3s AI players (not including the normal AI countries). I think you need to reconsider how these games are described, and give players a chance to leave the lobby, like they are used to in other games.

It's not a bug but it is an issue. I mean I assume the you want the players to have an enjoyable experience?
Here are the descriptions, where does it say random country selection?DoctorDR1 wrote:

It says it in the event description on the main page.
I've included the two screens you see before you are committed and it doesn't mention it on either. There is the description from the New Games screen and the details from the info button. No mention of randomly assigned countries.
However, even if it does say it somewhere in small print my point is simply that it's in the interests of both the providers of the game and the players that the players know what game they are playing before they are committed. The joy of Call of War is the many player versus player gameplay. If more than half the players drop out in the first day then something is wrong.
I meant this page.
You don't think an important point like random country selection should be included in the game description because it was included in a news article a week ago.
Forget I raised this point. I'll spend my time more productively in future.
Unless it says Free Selection, it's always random selection, just FYI.

Back to topic.
I think the point is fair. I forwarded it to our Event expert, maybe we can figure something out.
