New articles eventually appeared. Maybe there is a lag between notification and article availability?

Bogus WH notifications
Minor but annoying bug:
Two players writing newspaper articles in Game #2304085. After I read articles and exit WH, game indicates new unread articles after several minutes. When WH re-opened, there are no new articles

Two possibilities
There are times when your browser remembers old data in the cache, and is too lazy to get the updated data.
Or you were looking at one day's issue of the newspaper, perhaps yesterday's, and the new articles were in today's news.
In both cases reloading the game in the browser will fix this
