This has happened the last two times to my members. I have the join feature set to application must be accepted, so I send them invites, they receive the invite message but the button doesn't show for them to join. SO, to get them into my alliance I then have to go into my settings and set the join option to Free to join. THEN, they have to do an alliance search, find it, then join. is this a known bug? Why make it so hard to join an alliance? TIA for any answers.

There is a known bug or two with alliances that seem to mostly be specific to certain web browsers and versions. I have also had issues getting members to join my alliance. Chrome is the recommended web browser, others may not display that join button properly or at all.
