chat jumping when zoomed > 100% in chrome

I have a hard time reading the chat font so I like to ctrl-+ the browser to zoom in a bit. However, when I do this the chat log keeps jumping to the top. One thing that causes this is when a new message is posted in other tab. For example, if you are in Help and someone posts to Global the Help chat will jump to the top, and vice versa.
