I don't think it's double the normal time it's half the normal time...
3 normal days - 24x3=72 hours
1 day 12 hours - 24+12=36 hours

Coalition wait time in ACAI 4x is too long
Normally, the time you have to wait to join a coalition after you left one is 3 irl/game days. However, in the 4x ACAI games, you have to wait 1 day and 12 hours irl, which is equal to 6 game days. That's double the normal time.

You are both right; he means the in-game time is double and you mean the real-life time is half.
And I absolutely agree with OP, it is way too long in speed games, but when asked Bytro is convinced this is the right cool down time... so what can we do?
