Combat Glitch?

so I went to conquer Bryansk in Ukraine with 2 level 2 infantry and 2 light tanks, the bot has 2 basic level infantry. I wait and wait, and I get my butt kicked! his morale stopped dropping at 81% but I lost my army

That is strange. Bryansk is wooded. Do you know if there were any artillery units bombarding you from behind the front? Or aeroplanes?
