Countries from one end of the world rebel and join countries from the other end of the world.

I don't know if it is really a bug but it is not accurate at all. In a lot of games I saw countries rebel for eg, England rebel and join Greece. And that happend in a lot of games. England was an AI country as no one joined as that country and I know that it was not in war with any other country and it just decided to rebel and join Greece. And now the mainland Uk is divided into Greece and it had also rebeled to Sweden and Finland with some troops joining them so they decided to invade the whole of the UK. And basically now the whole country is covered with fire in the newspaper.
And then there was another game a while back that did the same thing in which my friend was Egypt and he conquered Turkey and then one province rebeled and the people proclaimed to be from Netherlands and joined Netherlands. and the most annoying thing about it all is that if you want to take the province back you have to start war with a country on the other side of the map and you loose morale while doing so.

Tell me if this makes sense when applied to the scenarios you've described; I believe that when a country rebels and joins another nation it goes to whichever power has the both the most 'victory points' (VP) and whomever has a territory nearest the rebellion so you can end up with some strange happenings.
In one of my games the UK acquired a rebelling Reggio(south Italy) as she already had control of Valetta(which the UK starts with). Although a couple of other players had a higher VP rating, their holdings were much further afield.
I suppose that VP are a main factor in rebellions as the people assume that the strongest nation has the best chance to protect them. Proximity seems to be secondary. You will often see that a player in first place may have rebellions, but even without troops stationed in the rebelling country it stays under the control of the first place player.

Well I had those two scenarios where it joined one of the bottom powers, as in that those countries had little VP. Like in the picture a country had a rebellion and it joined greece which you can't play with and has like 10 VP. Well it mostly does happen that the province goes to the highest nation, but when it doesn't it goes to a country which is on the other end of the world and thats the problem. And the stupid thing about it is that In the Newspaper it said,"The crowd rebels and proclaims to be Greek". And that was a mainland province of Uk (also Uk had no connact with Greece whatsoever).

Well, in that case, this is pretty odd. (I forgot that Greece is an AI only nation on the maps currently available.....) I'll pay attention to my current games and see if I notice this as well.
Besides the point, but I have seen AI nations climb the VP ranking though rebellions and killing players that attacked and failed....

Yea me too, I've seen that AI nations get high up. But anyways keep a look out, as it happened to me like twice or 3 times.

Yes, I was playing as SUSA and I had conquered Spain. Only, Cuenca and Guadalajara proclaimed to be Swedish- even though both Libya, Algeria and Morocco were nearer AND had more Victory Points.

I get the impression separation by water (only) might be ignored and average Morale of a nation is a factor.

explains how half of Britain rebelled to Greece and Italy

Well not quite, as Greece had its Capital conquered by then and it had only one core provine left.
