I had a team fight in a game 5/6. I was nobody’s coalition. We win the fight start to earn Zp. Suddenly I attack to a player that we already had sharing maps. We made peace then sharing maps again. It came through again. We find some troops they are fighting. We killed them or move another way. Maybe we war 30 times. At the end we send 10 times peace on message whoever seen there is fight will push the buttom. I lost many troops. 
I've had this issue before. One way to prevent this is to join a coalition. Otherwise, yeah, it sucks.
dude .. the same shit just happened to me today
I ordered my strategic bombers to attack an airstrip that was recently captured by an enemy
Suddenly i declared war on my ally who i share map with (he is not my collitation)
Also i stayed neutral with my enemy as i was before
