Default fire control

It does not work for submarines. Enemy convoys sail right over my subs without being fired on.

I noticed an issue with subs not engaging in IO1919 also. Perhaps there is a general issue.

If I had to hazard a guess....Subs that are not on one of the sea dots are the ones that do not engage enemies.

This is what seems to be happening to me in almost all instances.

2 other side notes on this

1- Default setting says "If no other orders are given"....maybe a movement order over rides an attack order.

2- Is it possible that "Waiting" is also considered an order?

Just food for thought.

"If no other orders are given" should only apply to ranged units. It just means they don't stop and shoot if enemy is in range. But melee should occur under any circumstances between enemies, unless there is a bug. Have you tested the subs on offensive? I think I had subs pass enemies, even on offensive in IO1919.

I have had subs ordered to pursue an enemy convoy and attack...successfully...

I have also ordered subs to pursue to the destination dot of the convoy. The sub passed it without firing, then engaged when the convoy reached the dot.

Just confirmed that submarine default fire control does not work

Positioned a sub in the path of an enemy convoy I was at war with. The sub was ON the sea dot.

Enemy convoy reached the dot and sailed right past.

freezy will see this, thanks for report!

Same thing happened to us in a recently finished game. Navy stacks that were supposed to be at war were passing through each other. We tried default as well as aggressive fire control options. The only reliable way to initiate combat was to fire on the enemy when the stacks were in combat range.

Game #7486119

As per my experience, It's really amazing. I love it.

this glitch only applies to the so called "premium" fire control?

No, it also affects the default fire control setting.
