No, he resigned in 1940.

In the 1939 Blitzkrieg map, the default leader for the UK is Neville Chamberlain, not Winston Churchill. Chamberlain resigned from his position in 1938 and Churchill replaced him.

He resigned because of the failure of the Munich conference (193
, where Czechoslovakia was divided.
Um no he didn'tSquidward wrote:

He declared war on Germany in September 1939 then resigned in 1940...........
By the way, I am British, so I sort of kind of know this shi........
It's supposed to be David Cameron, not Winston Churchill. David Cameron was briefly PM for 2 years 1939 and 1940 after Neville Chamberlain resigned in 1938.
Makes sense.Claudio NVKP wrote:

I thought Churchill took over after the public responded negatively to Chamberlain after Germany annexed the rest of Czechoslovakia, which led to Chamberlain resigning and Churchill eventually taking over.
It was Cameron.

But then why is it Churchill in the 1939 historic map? They're both set in the same year?
No. David Cameron came into power, talvisota is wrong
David Cameron.
Let’s face it, Churchill’s not all that great.
He tossed away lives in Gallipoli like they were scraps off his plate!
His whole miserable country is the size of one state.
I could see my way through running that without donning my Pince-nez!
Mate, when Churchill was in power, his "miserable country" held a quarter of the world's land mass and also a quarter of its population.RoughRiderTR wrote:

Not only that, but I think you'll find that Churchill operated the rescue operation at Gallipoli. Remind me how he "tossed away lives" again?
Yeah… and by the end of it much of that empire was doomed to fall. Good riddance, though.
He was the person who pushed for and lead Gallipoli. This offensive was a complete and utter failure to the point where he ended up resigning after the fact due to the shame of it.
The real problem is his treatment of colonies… he considered Indians as Barbarians and Muslims as dogs (his own words) and his policies reflect such a thing. One example was abandoning the Bengal region, taking all the food there and leaving millions of people to starve to death. He completely believed in a caste system placing white Protestants on top and black Africans all the way on the bottom. He wished for the British empire to continue its rule everywhere, even in Australia and Canada. He was a fanatical racist who also harmed millions of non-white people…
Regardless, that has little to do with this thread. The UK would have kicked Germany’s ass regardless of the stubbornness of their leader, TMC.
Yes, of course. Churchill, as a politician, was.......... questionable. But I didn't like the ad-hominems from RoughRider about the size of our country.
Hehe California is larger and Wealthier than the United Kingdom

Then why isnt David Cameron the leader in the 1939 HWW scenario?Carking the 6th wrote:

Whether or not he was a good guy doesnt change the fact that he was PM. This is kinda off the topic of this thread.RoughRiderTR wrote:

Also didnt the British Empire have tons of colonies at this time? Maybe they were bigger than all of America? IDK
Of course they were, squidward. Much bigger.
Claudia is joking, David is a recent British PM. Churchill took over in 1940, the current system is right.
Okay, I'm not British so I wouldn't know these things.
