A messages from player ALPHAXD900 show they were sent (in both Front Reports and Diplomacy/Message and Trades) but there is nothing there. Messages I send to him arrive but they don't show on my side.

Thank you. That was it. I'm so used to the messages scrolled to the bottom I didn't even notice that the scroll bar was up at the top.
