Disappearing Airbase

I built an Airbase in Ipswich. Based a couple of Int out of it. Moved them west to an Airbase in Cardiff. Ipswich rebelled and was recaptured. Airbase is gone. Not just damaged. Gone.

Is this supposed to happen? Is it possible to damage buildings enough that they simply disappear?

Yes. Losing and recapturing lvl1 building usually destroys it.
