Disappearing Aircraft from carriers

@Finela: Here in the Forum, I have read about various problems with aircraft operations from aircraft carriers since the new carrier unit was introduced last year. I have made extensive use of aircraft carriers (and nuclear-powered carriers) on the larger 50-player Pacific map, including operating a task force (i.e. combined stack) of five L6 carriers with a full complement of 40 aircraft squadrons embarked. Personally, the only time I have encountered a problem was when I was flying single wing of 5 squadrons off one carrier -- and I made the mistake of separating several of the carrier task force's escorts while the wing was returning from an air strike -- and all five squadrons in the combined wing disappeared forever, with no explanation.

Bottom line: Do NOT add or separate any escort units from your carrier task force stack while you have aircraft units in the air. This may not be the only reason for disappearing carrier-based aircraft, but it is certainly one of the circumstances that have been identified as being related to such disappearances.

I think I did not do this, but the problem occurred when I switched one unit from Patrol to attack, it quickly disappeared out of the map, from that point on all bomber tend to disappear. This is strange and was in this particular situation extremely annoying as now the window of opportunity for a fast strike is gone
