Hongyuan in Sichuan. Sichuan is a full-size country, and is intended to be played by human players. In the Pacific map version of the game, all full-size countries are supposed to have four industrial complexes at the outset. As a result of this uncorrected error, Sichuan only has three industrial complexes.mfncff wrote:
Which "city" province in the Pacific map is marked as forest?
Embarrassingly unresponsive to obvious errors
I am now playing my second game on the new Pacific map; it will be the last time I play it for the foreseeable future. I started my first game on the Pacific map over five weeks ago, and immediately began to discover numerous problems with the map. Apart from the expected minor spelling errors and typos, there still remain six small countries (including one "small" country with over a dozen provinces) with no flagged capital city, and there is at least one city that has no industrial complex that is coded as forest land. Over the past weeks, I have reported all of these problems via the "bug" report tool and/or the players forum, and all reports have been politely acknowledged by one of the English language game operators or moderators. To date, not a single one of these semi-serious problems has been fixed. This is in addition to the place name spelling errors (e.g., "Marlbe Bar"), strangely inappropriate design choices (e.g., Aleutian island infantry in Soviet battle dress), and wildly fantastic in-game population numbers for sparsely populated or unpopulated islands (e.g., over 2 million people on the in-game versions of Kiska and Attu islands).
And at least two aggravating problems seem to have been an intentional design choice by the developers: (1) the inclusion of only four industrial complexes per country, which creates a chronic shortage of goods relative to other resources in the early stages of the game; and (2) the reduction of food output per province 5 to 10 percent in comparison with the 10 and 22-player European maps, which creates ongoing food shortages in the middle and late phases of the game -- even when all food provinces are fully improved with level 3 infrastructure and hardened with an appropriate level of fortifications to address the morale-distance-to-capital challenge.
Sorry, meine herren, to be harshly critical of your handiwork, but this version of the game is not ready for prime time, and seems more like a beta test version than a finished product. Start fixing the obvious problems -- many of which have been repeatedly reported to you by me and others -- and I will consider playing it again. Moreover, if you expect game participants to continue to report the problems with your games, then perhaps you should start fixing the problems that have already been reported.
Thank you for your time and attention.
