Game refreshing bug

I've noticed that when I open the messages and trades tab, and scroll down on a conversation, it brings back up to the top of the conversation suddenly. This has been happening to me for as long as I remember an I didn't seem to mind it but it's become very annoying, especially when I look at a long conversation and scroll down to revise it or read it. I believe it's because of the refreshing of the game every minute or so. When I scroll down on any conversation, after 30 seconds or so the messages brighten up a bit and it brings me back to the top (the first message) of the conversation. It's hard to explain but it's very annoying.

I have the same, it's caused by Chrome and Firefox. Every time there is a new message in one of the chats, the chat you are in goes up. It's very irritating to moderate the chat, I assure you. Maybe someone will reply in this thread with a solution and no I don't want to use Steam.

I am already using steam though. I'm not referring to the global chat (bottom left corner) I'm referring to the Messages tab, Diplomacy > Messges and Trades. Although It also does happen with the global chat too.

Steam
Works the best for global /help chat

Otherwise the scrollback issue is device specific and not universal.

There is a refresh rate built into the diplomacy system so that new messages appear. This can cause the issues you described when you have a lot of history, particularly trades, that need to be displayed. I recommend deleting all trades as soon as you have accepted them, and deleting old messages as well, as this will reduce the amount of messages that need to be loaded on longer games.
