General errors occurring . . .

There appear to be multiple software errors occurring this morning. I got a pop-up message congratulating me on achieving the rank of Private First Class (2nd Level) ---- I'm actually Level 67, and that's not new. My game screen has repeatedly gone blank white, while the commodities market and other frame elements remain visible. In one game I am playing, another human player has received repeated notices that his country has made non-existent treaties with an AI country for the transfer of provinces. I suggest you check you error logs ---- some sort of general error appears to be happening.

I know on the to-do list this week was a fix for those folks like Pablo whose rank is incorrect, so That part doesn't seem extremely unusual.

If I try to use Firefox on my Wife's laptop it does that every 5 minutes. Possibly a browser/cache issue. Clear cache, close and restart browser, possibly try a different browser. If it continues to occur let me know or send in a bug report.

Anyone else with this issue today?

Not the first report I have seen like this. It is under investigation. Please have him send in a bug report for further analysis.

There is a huge responsibility in looking after Gizmo as there are certain rules which must be followed. The Mogwai must be kept away from bright light, never made wet and never, ever be fed after midnight.

Looks like someone broke a rule :(

What is unusual, Kosh, is that my ranking and reported points have not changed, but I keep receiving the congratulations pop-up every time I open a game. That's not the well-known problem where part of our ranking points go missing, and then later re-appear.

Also, I am having issues with my build queue. As soon as one building project is completed, I normally start another shortly thereafter in the same province, until my plans for the particular province are completed. In the last 12 to 24 hours, I have repeatedly started new construction projects, seen them report as having begun in the specific province's construction menu, have that construction shown in both the specific province pop-up menu and the province management list, only to return an hour or two later to discover that the construction never actually started.

I have also experienced noticeable delays when I attempt to move a unit.

Unless I am just the lucky lottery winner, it appears that there is a more generalized system error at work here.

So far today while being rank 60 I have been promoted rank 2 and then rank 3 just like MontanaBB has reported above, this is something new that I have been having just started this morning. I so far haven't had any other issue(s) other then that one.

There are many reports of this today. They are tinkering with the code in an attempt to ensure that ranking points don't go missing again in the future for anyone, and that seems to be causing some folks to be frequently recalculated.

There are no system wide reports like this today, you are the ONLY one that i see, so:

Errors like this are within your browser at least 50% of the time. This includes units not responding to orders given, and units that are stuck with a strength of 0.0

When you see orders not being carried out you should check your server state connection. This is an icon in the lower right corner with two half circle arrows. If you hover your mouse over it the state will pop up:

Server State Connected: This is the proper connection and means there is no communication difficulty with the server

Server State Connecting: Will show the arrows in motion, and indicates that there may be an issue with server communication. Orders may not be transmitted to the server, so that commands to move or attack may not be carried out.

Server State Disconnected: Indicates that your orders definitely are not reaching the server and you have an internet connection problem.

One sign of these is when your units do not show an arrival time or travel time when you give orders. The arrival time and travel time come from the server, so when those are visible you can be sure your orders are carried out. Otherwise units may move within your browser, but will be back where they started when you load the game again.

Typically these issues can be corrected by reloading the browser tab. Occasionally you will have to take the step of clearing your browser cache, closing and reopening the browser.

If you try to attack/move something that doesn't exist, it will go "Server state differs from client". This is because the server state differed from the client (aka the map is different to what actually is there). The units that you see on your browser screen are NOT in the same place in the server database.

Zooming out, a partial refresh, or a full reload should usually fix this issue. Some of the time you will need to do the following: Clear the browser cache, close the browser, reopen the browser, Clear browser cache AGAIN, then try to reload the game.

Now when the above does not resolve this issue please submit a bug report from within the game and the game server can be re-initialized from the database. Be sure to mention that you have already tried clearing cache and reloading the browser so we know that did not resolve the issue already.

Well, on the bright side, when I logged in a few minutes ago, I was promoted to Level 4! Progress.

Hello,

you can ignore these level-up popups, they are just a side effect of us improving the stats system and making it more robust. It should not occur again.

The other reported problems in this thread are not widespread or known and seem related to individual connection issues.

Regarding the mentioned "bug" that provinces were traded involuntarily with other nations: Some months ago we released the feature that you automatically trade provinces back to your coalition members, if you conquer them from enemies and those provinces were originally core provinces of your coalition members. So bug reports in that regard are usually false-positives. Please check via newspaper and coalition log if at the time the trade happened the player receiving these provinces was in the coalition.
