captured provinces show with stripes

Graphics bug or intended thing?
What's these diagonal lines that run through southern united states, central america and south america? I've never seen them before and they showed up in a new game i just started. Restarting the game doesn't get rid of them. And no, they're not borders, although that was my first thought.

This was at the very start of the game and there were no captured provinces! I'm not talking about the diagonal faded stripes in captured provinces, have another look at the picture provided.

That's a bug. If it's not fixed, just report it directly to support. try clearing your cache & cookies before, as it may help
