No aircraft unit has 10 HP, what likely happened was that you healed a aircraft transport (refueling aircraft are considered transports). The game will consider 5 HP added to the aircraft itself, not the transport. You got the 5hp you asked for, and likely failed to cheese the system. I do not see how this is unfair in any regard.
