I did not attack a nation but the game says I did
My game says I attacked two nations even though I am nowhere near them nor have I attacked them. This has happened in more than 1 game

It’s probable that you ordered troops to go through neutral land without realising - this is quite common. Watch where your armies are going

Sometimes, nations you are at RoW with will cancel the RoW as you have troops passing through their territory. The next time your units touch a province center or one of their units, you will go to war with them, and the game will say that you started it. Might not seem fair but that’s just how the game works.

Reverse thinking: If I am at RoW with a country that I want to attack, I can cancel the RoW while they are passing troops through my territory, and then they will have started the war!

NERD CONTENT:
Don't do it when your units are at -6 level as -6 will be additive inverse of level 6
