My light tank is busy since yesterday fighting an army, but it doesn't say against which units. It appears light it is fighting an army too far to see it's composition.

Yesterday was update day, have you cleared the browser cache and cookies since yesterday?
Another possibility: Is your tank fighting in an enemy fortification? At a level of 3.5 or higher you can no longer see directly what is in the fort, even if you are in melee inside there.
To see, what is in a fortification of Level 3.5 or higher, you need planes on patrol or spies to make an reconnaissance image.
If that does not help or does not apply then you should send a message directly to the support:

As Restrisiko said: A fort that is Level 4 or level 5 (or even level 3.5+) will hide the contents, so you only see a ? instead of a number.
An airplane on patrol overhead will usually reveal the contents, although for a complete level 5 I think your plane has to do the patrol tick to get a snapshot of the contents.
Or are you are on the event map 50v50 ?
