Jumping PM

Sometimes in diplomacy when you are typing a message to send to someone else, the PM chat jumps to the top conversation and you can accidentally send a damaging PM to the wrong person. It also happens when you are deleting old messages.

Yes, I accidentaly revealed to the enemy that my troops were demoralised, and he attacked.

The past is a foreign country.

This was mentioned in 'chat' this morning. I, too, have sent msgs. to the wrong player (fortunately they weren't damaging).

I also have this problem. Hopefully the mods can fix that soon, or else I might end up starting another Cold War with Russia and the U.S. :P

lol, that wouldn't be good. At least you would only build stuff rather than it getting hot.

I have the same problem . I also have games where my Private messages locks up the entire game and I have to reboot.

it does it on my home computer and my work so not a computer problem a program problem.

Yep just revealed to the ennemy the strategy. I didn't understand the bug, but I think it jumps to the latest person you sent a message..

Yeah, it does. Top of the diplomacy contacts. Isn't it funny that for some reason we all talk with our enemies?

Actually I think we like to complain ourselves.

I hope this gets the attention of devs if not mods, because it's a tedious, very annoying process of having to delete messages from a conversation while constantly having to navigate back to the messages you're trying to delete without accidentally deleting messages in the top conversation. (Hopefully you all know what I mean)

Sure as Hell I do! I hate the jumping.

Known problem. What I do is first finish the message, then wait a few seconds just in case and then reselect the right person.

problem solved (well, sort of).

loved those jumping PM's too,

but it got me thinking the other day,

Especially in a PL (type of) game where diplomacy plays a big role, it might be interesting if ALL communication was done in the paper. At least it's fun to think about. For me.

Um, no.

No, dude, because I mainly use diplomacy to tell my allies about my troops and about spies.

The past is a foreign country.

Yes. It is fun to think about. For me.

and of course I am aware of what you are saying Pablo....I do the same....would expect that most players do. (although there are plenty who can't be bothered to reply even to their allies to help form a plan.)

Anyways, I wasn't trying to convince anyone that they should share my idea, especially in a thread about "PM jumping." However, if anything, this level of transparency would demand a creative use of language. .....

*sighs*

Sadly, this is very true. Imposible to collaborate in the Med map. I actually had to join a game to help BBB. That is why in the other maps, I ally with people just to make sure they won't attack me, but I don't make joint plans to attack someone with my ally because there is a high risk halfway through the operation, when they mee tough resistance, they will leave the game.

That is true and I like the idea of uisng euphemisms and such to describe stuff. But still, I don't think, no matter the language you use, that you can get away with it without the enemy noticing.

Possible in real RP games. When you can explain something to the player in the paper to have some events.

Hard to make with random plays where paper is used to complain and to show you activity in the game which is kind of unusual.

But write all actions in the paper could be fun in small games...?
