The other day I was fighting off sleep staring at my laptop's screen for a couple of hours when suddenly a new 1939 game popped up right in front of me with zero players. Faster than light speed I hit the join button and picked Russia after being offered a strange choice of either them or the USA? Not having played for a couple of years I hesitated for a split second wondering if this change was just a harmless mistake, had some unseen merit to it, or worst case scenario, was prelude to yet another one of Bytro's disastrous changes they often made in the game's past. Since I was a little low on energy I decided not to waste any thinking about it while I'm guessing the person who started the game picked the USA a couple of seconds before I chose Russia. His first pick had ended any choice I might of had, but I've played the USA many times so It mattered not. Starting as the Russians in the so-called 'Historic' 1939 game was the last scenario I had yet to play with my goals to win solo victories with every major power. I'd played the Russians in the smaller games but always looked forward to the big one. Anyway, the game had confirmed I controlled Russia, and badly needing a bathroom break, I clicked to bring up its map and hastened away. After making a pot of coffee, I returned to see my country had not appeared as it should have. Instead it was still showing the world area map so I clicked on it again only to see written on the screen that someone else had picked Russia before me! WTF??? How was that even possible? I couldn't believe it! The game confirmed I controlled it first! What the hell had just happened? I can't see this as a normal computer glitch unless it's occurred before to others. If it hasn't, it will start stinking of human intervention and I won't say who first comes to mind. I would appreciate hearing if anyone has had or heard of anything similar or the same take place to help clear this infuriating event up.

If you don't make a move within 10 minutes after picking a country, your spot will be cancelled and you'll get a message from Bytro explaining what happened. This decreases the number of inactive countries from players who join by accident or regret their choice after starting.
On a side note, doing nothing makes no sense. The first few minutes of the game is where diplomacy, research, and basic factories are started. If you need to walk away, do it after making your first set of moves, so good things are happening while you're getting coffee.

if ur internet connection is slow it will take longer for the game to get the country for you, so there's chance that other players took it quicker if they have a better connection
Stay Sweet!
