That Naval Bombers are NAVAL Bombers not Interceptors, just as Interceptor cannot detect Subs. BTW All of this info is on the Unit Info Sheet in research that I have explained in another post of the same name.

I flew 3 level 5 Naval Bombers on patrol over a city garrisoned by 1 level 3 militia. I observed the Naval Bombers going through their 15 minute patrol cycle. At the end of the cycle there was no reduction of strength for either the Militia or the Naval Bombers. We were at war. Should be, according to me, 12 damage vs.4.1 defense divided by two for about 4 points strength loss for the militia. What am I missing?

My bombers clearly detected the militia. How else would I know they were there? It wasn't a scout problem. it was a damage problem. I know tacBombers would have been ideal, but I tried to use what I had available. They were there. They saw the enemy. We were at war. They had a damage value of 12. Nothing happened. Yes, I was using a hammer to drive a screw, but it was a big enough hammer to drive it in.
I am sorry but you are wrong, it IS a scout question. I do know that Naval Bomber, without question, cannot detect ANY Stealth ground units. Also if units are undetected by a proper scout unit that they will neither take NOR do damage from any plane on patrol over them. It sounds like it was a possible glitch that allowed you to see them or you had spied them with a scout unit before and they were shown on your map as an Intel Report. I would suggest in the future that you group Interceptors with your Naval Bombers and ensure that you keep all of your planes research up to date and your aircraft upgraded.
Actually I'm not sure about that. I agree that the plane does not DEAL damage in this case, but I clearly remember TAKING damage in this situation.S Schmidt wrote:

OP, I agree about Schmidt's analysis though. If the militia was spotted, it wasn't by the NB's.
OK. I think I understand that I could see the militia units but the Naval Bombers couldn't. Good point. But, Mr. Schmidt, telling me to keep my research and upgrades in order was out of line. The problem clearly stated that they were level 5 Naval Bombers. How do they get that level without research and upgrades? I appreciate the technical content of your answer, but not the sanctimonious tone of your advice. Have a good life. And thank you Mr. Rokossovsky. Helpful as usual.
