No ranking progression playing through Armor Games.

I'm new to the game, and this seems to be a new game too (day 3). I have already eliminated one AI and taken a significant amount of territory (including capital) of one of the two players what I'm waging war with right now. The problem is that my rank progression is still 0% towards rank 2. Is that reserved for members who pay?
I found this game on armorgames.com and played on that platform. When I wanted to log into the forum, I realized that I still wasn't registered onto the system. Was that causing the issue of no progression or is the version on that platform separate from the main servers?

Forum is separate from the game itself. If you are playing from Armor Games and you didnt registered to the game, that may be the reason of why you are not getting any experience. I suggest you joining the game from www.callofwar.com . You said it's day 3, if you have an account just log in from the original website and keep playing your games, if not, I strongly suggest you to make an account and start with it.
However, keep in mind, you only get experience from buildings and units from active players from ranked games.

It often takes a few days to a week for new players to begin getting any experience towards their rank. All of it will update, do not worry, you are not losing anything by being active early on.
however, fighting non-elite AI does not give you any exp, and neither does playing within non-ranked games.

Ah, I can see now that my progression has started to go up. Thanks for the replies. By the way elite AI are those who are managing inactive players, right?

Elite AI is a setting at game creation time. The AI that takes over for inactive players is not elite and does not help you with ranking.
