non-core with destroyed baracks

Found a bug while discussing with Glorpian

Destroyed level one baracks still consume 200 food every day even though the guide says that they are disabled.

A non-core province with a lvl one destroyed baracks consume 200 grain more than an equal sized non-core province.

Will repair the baracks and disable them and see if my production changes tomorrow.

Does the consumption show up in the Food bar that appears when you mouse over the icon in the resource bar?

That would require a lot of calculations which I don't have time for right now.

But after day change unfortunately the consumption in the provinces where I repaired (and disabled) baracks are still unchanged, so it didn't work.

I think they do, every conquered province with a destroyed baracks consume 200 extra food than a similar sized province with the same population.

Unfortunately it doesn't help to repair the baracks and then disable them.

So how do we get this fixed?

I have noticed this as well, although it doesn't show up in consumption stats for the resource, I suggest putting a bug report in, as I have. The more players that are experiencing the bug and have reported, the more attention the bug will get.

This bug is also doing the same thing with naval bases.

This could go a long way towards improving the food issues on the 100 player map if true. I conquered Alberta, BC, NWUSA, Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, Ontario, Quebec, SUSA, as well as parts of colorado and texas... that is 9-10,000 food per day from damaged barracks charging me a food tax.

Remove the food tax, and the considerable investment i made in food infrastructure and ICs would let me break even on food production.

Hello again everyone

so I've done some testing and it turns out that it does help to bomb the Barracks away.

Got an ally to bomb one of my cities until the barracks went from lvl 3 to lvl 2 and the consumption dropped 500 food.

Province consumption or total consumption?

In the province itself

I just want to add that this bug also applies for harbours, only difference is that they consume oil and not grain.

Why not just turn them off??? ?(

When you turn them off, you see an immediate improvement in your food/hr...

As with harbors for oil...

I've been doing some checking around, and it appears that the province consumption when you factor in the damaged buildings don't quite fit with the overall consumptions.

meaning?

The deactivated barracks (which you should note stops drawing grain when deactivated) does not show up as being deactivated on the province consumption.

Essentially the province consumption display looks like it's wrong.

Exactly, it is just a display error, because when you turned them off, the food situation immediately improved.

I don't understand the fuss about the barracks. The turn-off button works fine.
