Nuke bomber using ally airfield = declaring war

I've got a nuke bomber headed towards an ally's airfield. We have share map but are not in a coalition. If I direct that bomber to attack an enemy after refueling at that airfield, the game prompts me to declare war on my ally.

This isn't game-breaking, since I can accomplish the same goal by sending my plane to the airfield, and separately giving it attack orders once it refuels. It's just a strange mechanic I wanted to point out.

Wait a second

I gotta try this

Maybe you can double-launch a nuclear bomber, like it may glitch the bomber and have it nuke your ally, then your enemy

I know exactly who to do this too lol

oh cool

In my case I hit declare war, which caused the bomber to turn around in mid air (as it could no longer use the ally airfield since I no longer had share map). I would have had to give it another separate order to nuke my ally.

Good info.

same with strategic bomber, i've been ecountered this long ago and i need to order attack once the aircraft has done refueled in friendly airbase (very time inefficiency)

bug or something?

Some further testing shows that this happens regardless of which airfield in the chain is an ally airfield. I am sending a bomber from the other side of the world, transiting 4 or 5 airfields. One of the middle airfields it routes through belongs to an ally, and I get the same Declare War pop-up when trying to give a direct attack order.

Hm, seems like something that should be fixed sometime soon.
