Tanks have some defenses against planes. Click the little i beside the tank unit on the research tab and you will se that tanks do some damage to air.

Planes VS tanks
so I'm playing on a 100p map on COW 1.5 and I attacked 5 lvl 1 tac bombers (that were full health to start) they were in a truck on a urban territory and it killed my entire tank division of 2 lvl 2 light tanks (both full health) and the enemey planes who were in trucks only took about 10% damage, I thought when planes get to that state they only have 5 hp but I could be wrong. If more info is needed I can add game ids and all that.

I see it has 0.5 defence against planes and nothing for the attack against planes, dose that mean it dose 0 attack damage to planes regardless of weather there on the ground or flying

If your plane attacks the tank in air, then the tank can do damage to the plane. If the plane if on the ground, it turns into a convoy which tanks can do damage to.
