Are units still moving and attacking while servers are down? Will pending invasions continue and will defenders be helpless to yet ANOTHER server outage?

Awesome, right when I have some big moves in the works in my alliance challenges, this is recurring quite frequently. 5000 gold doesn't even help when you loose whole armies. what I get a total of 2 12 hour boosts and an 8 hour boost. definitely not worth the compensation.
I'm new to the game, but I'm guessing this happens a lot.
Are you sure everything keeps moving while servers are down? If they do, then I will just give up on this game. It takes WAY too much time (weeks) to plan a successful invasion. All wiped out by bad servers and bad IT people.MasterCK wrote:

Servers are not down a lot, no. However, this is out third outage, recently. Not the normal for these many problems.

At least once a month...basically almost weekly. I've received 10K in gold from two big outages in the last quarter. The "little/shorter" server meltdowns don't offer compensation. My advice? Don't spend real cash on this game...use the free offers and even then, wait until you know you will survive before using gold.VapeThug wrote:

any chance its getting back up tonight?
Three recent outages IS ALOT! Answer the other question please...are units and attacks paused during these small server disasters?Oso Major wrote:

The developers already know about it, and are working to get things back running, sadly we have not yet been given an ETA for the fix.

could we get an explanation at least what the problem is?
The thing-a-ma-jig that runs the what-cha-ma-call-it was filled with blinker fluid when it should have been filled with fully synthetic warp drive fluid which caused the dohicky to over heat, melting the outer radiation shield and darn near causing another Hindenburg like disaster.Vigor555 wrote:

thank you, Boom, for your spot-on explanation.bbOOmmm wrote:

Once I find out what happened, I will let you know. Sadly, devs are working on the problem, not chatting with me at the moment

Unfortunately one of the reasons I play games like this is to keep me from thinking about my ex. Strangely enough, she sneaks around and tries to figure out how to fix her messes by herself without telling me anything. Then afterwards she plays it off as if nothing happened. She can't(or won't) even give me an explanation. That is what I want. I want to know why.
And even more strangely enough, the developers are reminding me of her by not even saying what the problem is.
Developers, we need to have better communication in our relationship.
Well, like your ex-wife, the developer's probably don't know what the problem is, they just know there is a problem. And like most marriages, they probably caused the problem and don't realize it or refuse to acknowledge it.

You need to pass along that giving 5K gold to everyone doesn't make good players happy (needs to be more). It doesn't replace the DAYS/WEEKS of planning or units lost because of outages like this. AND...they give it to everyone...from the hardcore player to the casual person that doesn't care that much or spend money on the game. But hey, now rookies can blow thousands of gold on a random game and make their neighbors miserable. And you wonder why people quit.
Here is a thought, hire better employees and purchase better equipment because this is becoming a sad routine. Each 100-man game will last at least 60 days and we have experienced at least TWO major outages during that time period.
Devs need to implement "no-gold" games and alphabetize provinces. If you do that and fire your Technology manager, I may keep playing.
Huhhh? Sounds like bad planning if your strategy can't handle this. Revise strategy, I strongly suggest.BeerBelly wrote:

Last outage was in October (general power failure in Frankfurt were the servers are; so be glad you got 5k for that, as it had nothing to do with Bytro). We are half December now...
Neither outage had even the tiniest impact on my exploits in the game.
Well...it CAN have impact on the game...
i went out of bed early because i "know" already my biggest oppenent sleeps long in the weekend. and i have a few hours advantige.
So for this weekend no more advantige
actually, we had an outage last week. it was my first compensation of 5000 gold.
and then I realized how little it actually helped...
Get a clue and revise your thought process. When you are tracking a 200 unit invasion fleet and are moments away from springing a trap that will decimate your enemy, then this outage only benefits the attacker. Nothing is paused. If you didn't experience an impact then you are just a casual player and don't time anything._Pontus_ wrote:

Roger that, but it is not like all is lost, like some pretend.
Some of the features of this game I love:
- no alarms to set,
- can go away several days and only log in to stay active,
- don't HAVE to spend gold to win
Only in very rare cases under very rare circumstances, the minutes or even seconds do count. For those that were i.e. just going to move troops to take an empty fort, just before enemy reinforcements arrive, or those in a fierce and timed arty or naval battle, this may be hurtful.
Otherwise it is not worth the drama.
