I agree with everyone when it is said 5,000 Gold is non enough for compensation of the Crucial inconvience.

I was just about to complete research into a Nuclear bomb, and was about to build and use it, I was excited to login today.

Now, not so much. Which is sad because when the X1000 event for purchasing gold occurred, i purchased 2 dollars worth, which was 55,000 - which is normally 20.00

The 55,000 was AWESOME. I considered later purchasing 50,000 gold full price.

Then the first crash happened.

The 5,000 "compensation" Was in NO comparison to the 50,000 gold.

So, I pondered -

People are paying $20 dollars for "gold" which support this game to keep things like this from happening, and it happens, and those people who paid to upgrade in gold, for 200+ armies - get 5,000 in gold compensation?

Robbery.

You will never see another CENT of my money.

You bought 2$ in gold, so you did not support the game yet...

Maybe if you had done, this wouldn't have happened :) :) :)

So my point originates not to my purchase, but to what could happen to any further investments.

Oh, well... uhm... Thank you?

I work in tech support.

What your doing is trying to avoid the point and discussion at hand to avoid accountability.

People paid for services rendered.

And these services had not been rendered to what is expected.

In fact they disappeared, with a percentage for a "compensation" for most.

Where is the armies people paid for?

So this is the response people are going to get when asking these questions?

Oh yes, this changed my mind completely.

I'm going to blow my whole paycheck on Game-1219799

just to have the server "crash" so I can be compensated 0000000.1% of that amount paid for 300,000 armies.

I'm really not surprised I knew people being banned in chats for actions protected under the 1st amendment was a clear red flag...

This is brutal.. :wallbash

ah, now i get it, you are jumping in the breach for those other people? how nice of you.... I suppose...

BTW, 99,9% of the player base, plays this game for free. It is also nasty for them, you know?

I only started playing this game a few weeks ago and the servers have crashed twice in that time. Having moved over from another very time consuming game (tribal wars) where you could not dip in and out I was quite enjoying it.

However, their servers never crashed in 10 years of playing and updates lasted no more than an hour.

I did spend real money on gold as a learning tool where I could rebuild my mistakes and would have in the future but am seriously considering not playing again if this is actually an ongoing issue.

I see a lot of people saying it doesn't matter about troop movements and it will be ok etc but even early game server outs that last this long are genuine issues. Forget the big guns playing late game where they have large armies going against each other, the effect on early game can be just as much. For example your initial attacks into AI or player territory often require keeping a tab on as scouting missions. Send a troop, when its close enough see whats there and withdraw if its not going to take the province to think again.

I sent all troops out last night on a new 100 game using this tactic and had expected to withdraw at least half to then group and attack again. None of those will be returning and I will probably lose a lot of troops all because the servers are down and now its game over. If it was planned then they would not have been sent.

If you want new players to a game to keep it going then you need to sort this sort of thing out and as has been previously said 5,000 compensation is not enough for someone who has spent more than that (not personally but I have spoken to some who have) on day one or two of a game only to find they are now at a major disadvantage and their game is effectively over.

100% not true. If only .1% people payed, the game would shut down. Your bad opinions and guesses are just that...nothing based in fact. We all get it, you are a naive fanboy and anything negative (and truthful) about this game really bothers you.

well, look at the positive side: that gives the other players a chance against the gold-spammers :)

99,9% of the community plays for free, after all

And it is possible to win without gold. Try that in Tribal Wars.

Playing this game since May and s1914 since years. It is the most enjoyable strategy game I have found on the net.

And I do not miss the perfect service of Tribal Wars and all the others, which is financed by the gold that MUST be bought to stay on top.

I prefer the not-always tip-top communication (but always tip-top customer service if there is a real issue) and haphazard incidents like this (which do not happen that often) a 1000x over the perfect service in the pure P2P games.

Hence I support the game by buying High Command and gladly spend some money on it to keep it going.

Never going back to the Chinese/USA money traps, even when the service is perfect.

Please, re-think your hosting strategy. Use the cloud, use the HA environments.

Yes, you must be in IT or bookkeeping? ... stumbling over the 99,9%.

'99,9%' means 'the vast majority' ... dohh.

As if I would have access to the financial figures? Ofc not! I only know from what I see in games that 99,9% ... erm... doing it again, sorry .... the vast majority is F2P.

And what do you care about the other people who spend money here? I don't really see them complaining here?

Look, I have too much time on my hands, so I can sit here and do this all day, defending my favorite game against people that hardly scratched the surface of what this great RTS has to offer.

But your reasons are your worries about other peoples money after you spend 2$ yourself? Really?

You can say 99.9% over and over and it will never be true. Do the math...only 1 person paying for gold or HC out of 1,000 players. How many servers and employees will that support. Seriously, think before you type if that is possible.

Lol, so now that you realize you are completely making stuff up and nothing you have said is factual , your stance changes to "vast majority". You are entertaining to read.

Though I agree pontus that you can win without gold and this is the way it should be (unlike TW) There are those that do buy it and that allows those that dont to play otherwise the developers wouldnt be in business.

If you want people to play as high command; which I would have taken and not bought any more gold, having learned the basic strategy, then you still have to have reliable servers as it effects non-gold players too.

I have played 6 games now, without gold, and all bar the 100 worlds have less than 3 active players at day 6. Wheres the fun in that?

Incorrect. The vast majority CLAIM they are F2P.

giving gold to everybody just creates a lot more problems that it solves

give all 1 week of premium membership instead

Good morning kids,

If that is any consolation, I'm sitting here in my pjs, banging the head on my desk. Mostly because of the servers, yes but also because of the level of "d'uh" in this thread. I suggest y'all get yourself some milk and cookies, I sure as hell do.

~ Meh.

I never said that 99.9% as in exactly 99.9%, but as in 'vast majority'
