giving gold to everybody just creates a lot more problems that it solves

give all 1 week of premium membership instead

That's actually a really good idea...I would say two weeks so more players get used to HC and then really want to buy it after it expires.

Yes, you must be in IT or bookkeeping? ... stumbling over the 99,9%.

'99,9%' means 'the vast majority' ... dohh.

As if I would have access to the financial figures? Ofc not! I only know from what I see in games that 99,9% ... erm... doing it again, sorry .... the vast majority is F2P.

And what do you care about the other people who spend money here? I don't really see them complaining here?

Look, I have too much time on my hands, so I can sit here and do this all day, defending my favorite game against people that hardly scratched the surface of what this great RTS has to offer.

But your reasons are your worries about other peoples money after you spend 2$ yourself? Really?

You know the value of what you said is as follows...

'R'eal 'T'ime 'S'trategy... as in - no strategy is happening, because no server is working! Kinda makes you want to think about your use of the term 'great'!

Killings my business, and business is good!

Incorrect. The vast majority CLAIM they are F2P.
Rick, go back, re-read my statement. Then, re-assess your response pls.

Too much trouble. You won't do that, so herewith copied and pasted what I said:

"As if I would have access to the financial figures? Ofc not! I only know from what I see in games that 99,9% ... erm... doing it again, sorry .... the vast majority is F2P."

With emphasis on 'is' ...

F2P ofc includes in-game earned gold being spend. (earning gold: another feature you wont find in the Chinese/USA money-pit-games)

Good morning kids,

If that is any consolation, I'm sitting here in my pjs, banging the head on my desk. Mostly because of the servers, yes but also because of the level of "d'uh" in this thread. I suggest y'all get yourself some milk and cookies, I sure as hell do.

Ok...so once again...and in the theme of duh ideas....patronizing and insulting the customers that give you money is NOT the right plan. Can you guys like go have a meeting about this dynamic? The downtime would be totally liveable if you guys could exchange your smart remarks for something like...oh I dont know, a general estimate of how long they will be down for?

Okay, please keep this thread on topic. There are other threads for talking about gold and it's uses, and how to find games with players that do not quit. Thank you very much for your understanding.

It all seems to me as a discussion about how it sounded when the check-out clerk said "Have a nice day".

It will not have any effect on the quality of the goods you bought nor the time spent already on shopping, but somehow, when that did not sound right, it is a reason to create a major fuss. So un-European...

Again, I prefer this game for the great strategy game it provides. Hence, not for its service, looks, etc. , but for the great strategy game it is (until someone spams the hell out of you with gold, but even that can be handled with good strategy & good diplomacy)

Btw, done with this thread. Have fun with it :)

Yeah, and then you said it again.

She is simply telling you in her own fun way that getting yourselves angrier fuming and fuming on is not going to help you, or the developers in their quest to fix the servers.

Perhaps we wouldn't be here with all the 'd'uh' (as you put it) if the main suggestion from all official sources wasn't 'milk and cookies', 'coffee or tea'!!!

Perhaps, if we had wanted those things, we wouldn't be trying so hard to get on your inaccessible servers! Perhaps, if the staff weren't busy being condescending to their customers, their customers would be more understanding.

Or, do you think you would take these kind of statements from your ISP, or your television (cable) company, or any other support personnel in any other service based business.

(Hurry everybody, buy your GM, the service and support is top notch!!! The sarcasm is FREE!!!!)

Personally, I've put a chunk of cash into this game, and server downtime is bothersome. The 5k compensation given is better than nothing, but barely. There are many many games to spend your money on. I've never played a game with as much downtime as this one and seriously reevaluate my spending habits here when having these negative experiences. Being defensive about the game is only further enraging the customers. What we want is answers, solutions, fair compensation and assurance these issues will be dealt with permanently.

Ya, the REAL TIME Strategy that you are currently NOT playing in REAL TIME!!!

Do I need to paint a picture, write an 5000 word essay on what the picture is and means and then hold a TED talk before you understand?

The events in this REAL TIME Strategy game take days or weeks to plan, because.... STRATEGY! When you finally unfold your master STRATEGY and the server goes down FOR HOURS you have wasted your time - time you could have spent doing anything - up to and including watching your foot fungus grow - FOR ALL THE PRODUCTIVITY OF HAVING WASTED YOUR TIME PLANNING AND PLAYING OUT YOUR STRATEGY!

Ummmm, NO! She is simply saying in her own 'fun' way - "Thanks you immature imbeciles who spent money on our game, but the server is down. No need to get uptight about it. Go do something else until some point in the future when our servers are no longer down. What?!?! No, I am not going to do something use like tell you why the service you are helping to fund is not currently available! No, I am not going to give you any kind of estimate on how long it will take. I certainly am not going to reassure you, or disappoint you, by letting you know if the game is still running while you are not able to interact with it! How foolish of you to think, I, a member of the staff here would do anything but impart anything but contempt and sarcasm."

We aren't all kids, and we all don't fall for lame excuses for bad behavior.... it's called customer service, do you do it?

May I ask if you are coincidentally American? I mean from the USA? Just for my information. Not going to comment in any way on it.

You may ask whatever you please.

I may refuse to answer (because strategy (when this game works) demands it :) )

A lot what was said above has a truth in it.

As it is technology, something can go wrong at any given time I guess ... nevertheless it is annoying to encounter these 'server down' times - especially when you are in the midst of tactical maneuvering ...

I hope they figure out the problem soon ... in the mean time the following topics I think are really necessary to implement in the game:

- the possibility to play a non-gold game = this is the most fairest gameplay and highly recommendable to implement

- the ability to choose whether you attack or not on the sea when encountering enemy vessels, even when you are not a staff member or what-cha-ma-call-it. In particular and only useful when you have a sub -- you should be able to cross enemy ships without being detected and whithout automatically engaging a battle.

- in case of server down - freeze everything so that troops remain at the position the moment everything collapses

I am, as a lof of players, not entirely sure when in server down time the troops continue to move or that the whole thing is paused ...

Thx for having a look into it!

The crew are volunteers. That is mods up to MA.

I guess Community manager is paid job, but I am not sure.

Anyways, the fact that people get so worked up about the game not being accessible, tells me something about those people. It really hurts my eyes to see how you all behave over this and I must say it is very uncommon for a European to see this behaviour which I only know from my kids when they were about 4yrs old.

Hence my guess you are all not European.

I would understand getting worked up about the game being dumbed-down and/or going full blown USA-Chinese P2P.... but this ... on a Sunday morning??

Greetings,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Issues beyond our control sometimes occur in regards to our Data centers, and we have genuinely been working on trying to expand our Servers, patch up existing issues, and make the game a overall more enjoyable experience.

Due to it being the Holidays, a Sunday, and among other things, it took us a bit longer. The Developers are hard at work trying to fix it. And we are trying to make sure everything stays enjoyable. The game is simply expanding at a rapid rate, and we are being forced to take measures well before they were expected to be taken.

Once again, sincere apologies for all the trouble. We are working hard to fix it.

In the meantime, please be respectful, kind, and appropriate. Stay on topic, and do not post hateful comments. We are all human beings trying to enjoy a fun game. We can all be civil and polite about it, as well.

At least there should be an icon showing us the server is down...
