Servers down for ​Maintenance 4th January [BACK UP]

You couldn't make this [poop] up

They have been down over the weekend but decide to do maintenance the following day ( over 10 hrs now ) and not tell the staff of the pre planned downtime AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then they wonder why people post negative comments about this game on social media,

I too managed to access my game shortly and saw that my main army was under attack and is beeing heavily decimated. Before I could do anything about it the server was down again.

I am playing over a month on this 100-Map and all the work is gone now. I'll have to take a train now and wont be able to login for 9 hours.

Btw I found your so called 'anouncement'. Do you guys really think a reply on a thread with the topic "Serverprobleme 2.1.2016" qualifies as anouncement for a server down? And instead of 1 or 2 hours it now takes over 5 hours allready.

Have we broken down again i was in game 30 minutes ago logged out came back loaded up selected my game screen frozen on loading screen

Issues occurred with the re-launching of the games. The planned downtime has, for that reason, taken longer than what was expected. we regret to inform you a timeline for the sever to finish booting up is not currently possible.

Please is anyone able to tell me now, how long the serverdown will last presumably? It is down for 5 hours now, so will it be up again within the next two hours? Will it be down for next 5 hours? will it last longer than 10 hours?

There must be some estimation about that if it was planned, right?

So please tell us, share information.

not to point fingers at the responsable people, as already stated by 'Azazel', we are all human and I know for sure they do the best they can.

I think the most frustration is not that the game is interrupted, but the fact that the amount of time and for some also real money has been spent in several games played at once. For those who do not spent money, it is a set back not only for the time spent, but also for the effort they have put into the game to face those players who do spent real money, making it pratical impossible to win a game - those who spent their money - to each its own but don't you have any honour in you - face not only the time spent, but also their money blown away ...

for both parties a compensation of 5K gold does not suffice - better than nothing, but maybe we need to look for an alternative.

Dare I suggest to implement the following:

a) two servers - one for non-gold players and one for gold-players - it might be the solution to server down problems

b) back up server in case one crashes

c) in crash and no back-up server - freeze everything

d) ...

Also I do understand that the actions taken today for server maintenance are probably due to recent server downs and was decided on the spot. But a little warning in the 'Community - News' on the homepage would have been more tactical.

Last but not least let me just say that this game is awesome, and it deserves to be treated as such. This means that the hardware and software need to work accordingly. If this means investment in bigger, better, faster stuff -> do it. If you don't you might face a lot of people turning the other way, leaving this game which would be a real shame.

This doesn't mean that I do not appreciate all the hard work put into the game by all the developers and co-workers, on the contrary - THX for that and keep up the good work guys!!

To all the whiners - think positive and act constructive.

Complaining is necessary, but do it with respect - you probably couldn't do it better, and if you could then give a helping hand ... if not just shut up.

its not like we don't appreciate them, we're just panicked because some players who have spent MONTHS on this game might get screwed over. We aren't trying to act like ingrates, its jut hard to watch something you invested so much into go down the crap shoot in a matter of hours.

Sounds like they need to update hardware xD

When the server went down on January 4th, I lost 9 units and on one game I was fighting (1330343) and another 12 units in fighting 1333532, not to mention the time in moving troops. I may just stop playing this game.

I lost approx. 21 units and lots of time due to the maintenance, in battles 1,333,532 and 1,330,343. not enough gold will give me the time and troops i lost.

This is just a game. I haven't spent a single real-life cent on it, and intend to spend real money on it (i.e. buy gold and pay for HC) only after the servers become reliable for an extended period of time. I'm thankful for the devs and volunteers for the fun I've so far been having, and will continue to play for free when they're back.

there should be some way to Freeze the maps and troop units during down time....cant there be a backup or something made to get a picture of current status, and have that loaded after the maintenace?
