Servers are down for a bit...that happens every week in this game. And how do you know its not an update that will knock them out for hours? Spending money on a game that breaks weekly is not wise.
Its and update I wish they would give advanced notice but don't fret it will work soon
This is your announcement.
I believe the operative word here is 'Advanced', meaning of course, before...
That way we all can plan around these 'updates'.
It looks like the back end servers are offline which is a typical 502 bad gateway response. Engineers should develop a "Sorry Page" to list routine maintenance or server issues. Not that I mind errors in the application, but it would be unfair if the computer run accounts are still active while the rest of us can't access the games
if you wake up tomorrow and AI has occupied your capital, your gold speedups were for naught.
I'm playing 1295359 and I can't get past the loading page!!! I'm in an intense battle I'm gonna freak!

I don't see the funny side of it, i pay money to play this game and these outages are unacceptable.
I think the funny side is... no refunds (i.e. your paying for unacceptable outagesSulamon wrote:

)Last outage was almost two months ago. As unacceptable as any outages are, your power, cable, and probably smart phone data plan are down just as much. Please be patient while our developers focus on the issue.

The previous outage had nothing to do with Bytro, but was caused by a power failure in Frankfurt.
Further, it simply doesn't happen every week.
Why is everyone always so nasty? This 'I want this and I want it now' is really more like for 4 year olds, before they learn to behave... Apparently some never did...
And with a slow paced strategy game like CoW, even a few hours won't matter much, especially if you normally apply more skill than gold. Take a break, make coffee, hang around the forum and fraternize with fellow players... so many things to do when the servers are down.
I have the same p[roblem, not able to enter 1316408
No. There have been at least three outages in the past month or so. Second of all, no my power, cable, and phone do not go down three times a month. And if they do go down, I can get a CASH refund. I dont know what country you live in, but no that is not the reality for some parts of the world.Oso Major wrote:

Id like to offer some feedback though. When the service you are providing to your customers fails on a recurring basis, it might not be the best customer support policy to make light of it and crack jokes. Because it sort of illustrates a lack of respect for your customers. Which Ive sort of witnessed on a recurring basis even though I rarely visit the forums or chats.
Not any more, I have never known another company that ridicules its paying customers when their service goes offline.Alphared wrote:

Or the patronising way you are told to, take a deep breath and make a coffee,
Unbelievable way to treat your customers
I'm sorry, but I live in the developed world where such outages are much rarer. My power hasn't gone out in many years, my cable provider has deeply discounted my package because of one outage on one feature, and the only time I lose phone service is when I don't pay my bill.Oso Major wrote:

Sorry for your circumstances.
Ok, to start there is an innovative new technology called backup power systems. They typically are a mandatory part of servers in which people pay to access them. Second of all there have been at least three failures in the past month. That is a lot._Pontus_ wrote:

Now who do you think is being nasty exactly? Calmly stating dissatisfaction with a failed service is not being nasty. It is a reasonable response.
Finally, its great that in your games you barely need to pay attention every few hours, but in many of my games, quite often, seconds count. Boosting movement for a short burst long enough to cut a huge armies escape off with another huge army is a common practice. But if you lose conn while your a 60 unit stack is on forced march that could melt them to nothing in a few hours.....unexpected failures matter.
I appreciate your suggestions, but Id really rather get back to the game I was playing, as some of us have busy lives. I have absolutely no problem paying money to play this game, I think it is an appropriate action if you truly enjoy a "F2P" game. However, when the staff makes jokes while I do not have access to the game during a key manuever that is built upon weeks of diplomacy, manipulation, and timing....it can actually turn the tide of the game.
I found your assessment of this situation to be incongruent with my personal experiences. And some parts of your post are simply inaccurate. And I am not being nasty, I am being direct and clear.
Please do not confuse the server being down for ten minutes for maintenance, which you were warned about two weeks in advance for, as an "outage." When the servers were down early last week for a few minutes, 5,000 gold was sent to you. for a few minutes of an outage that did not effect many players at all.VapeThug wrote:

To be clear, in these situations, what your customers are looking for is some sort of estimate on how long things will be down for, so we can plan accordingly. A quick call to the developers for that assessment, is an appropriate response to unexpected downtime. If you are interested in feedback from your customers, please add that assessment and passing on of the expected length of downtime to your recovery process. We would appreciate it.
good response rick. I do find it not nice (friendly stated) that at the small time frame I have in between other social activities that the game does not work. I do not have whole day for playing. not being able to enter the game, means 4 hours of delay until i am back from my activities. that matters.
specially at a free sunday morning I would expect the possibility to play. better to do updates at night in europe time or so, but not in weekends.
