Okay I'm not sure if this is a bug or a suggestion, but I'll put this tread here.
In my current game, I wanted to split off one carrier with all naval bombers on it. I tried separating my aircraft carriers (I have five in one group along with other escorts and such), but it only gave me the options of which ships to ungroup and not which planes to ungroup with it. Now I can't find my tactical or attack bombers on the PC version, but can on the mobile. I recommend making it more straightforward when ungrouping carriers and allow players the choice of which planes to ungroup with them. I have four different types (interceptors, naval bombers, attack bombers, and tactical bombers).
When I ungrouped one carrier, it split off five interceptors and a naval bomber instead of my desired six naval bombers. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
I submitted a support ticket, but that won't really help in the current game.
For what it’s worth, I sent my interceptors on patrol to cover embarking ground units and my naval bombers after an enemy sub before I tried ungrouping the carriers; I can still use them. However when I try doing anything on mobile with the attack or tactical bombers, nothing happens and I still can’t find them on the PC version, it’s like they vanished.
I got my planes back after about six or seven hours. I took a screenshot, but am having trouble attaching due to the size. Looks like they were headed to the other side of the pacific.
That's a glitch. Aircraft sometimes just decide to circumnavigate the globe. Don't ask, I don't know. It will get fixed in a later update. This glitch seems to be appearing a lot more recently. Might have something to do with the last update.6thDragon wrote:

As for the ungrouping of aircraft and ships. I believe the aircraft are a separate group of units, so you have to split them separately. Maybe try making them patrol an area right next to the ships and then having them land on the newly split aircraft.
Yes, that's exactly what appears to have happened to me. Luckily we still carried the day. My land units were more than enough. I just couldn't believe the planes went off the rails the minute I tried ungrouping the carriers.Donk2.0 wrote:
