Honestly, I am getting sick of this. Planes on the ground, in spite of ZERO defence factor, take far longer to kill than actual ground combat units! It's happened to me yet again today, I had a stack of 8 light tanks and 4 infantry catch 2 interceptors on the ground, the battle has been going on for almost TEN HOURS and I've still only killed one of them, the other one is still full strength and I have lost a light tank to boot.
Please fix this issue, it's just plain absurd.

It does seem to happen a lot, my advance with a light tank was stalled for a day or two(until the game ended) by 1 lvl 3 interceptor. I could not kill it. I had nine lvl 6 fighters patrolling where it was, the tank was locked in combat with it, it never had to refuel and when I captured the airfield(which was a bit away, the fighter was patrolling) the aircraft still stayed in the air. It never took damage, although my fighters took a little.
2 1/2 hours later, the battle with the lone interceptor continues ... 
I still have this issue too, and also with rockets.

Hey, looks like they fixed this! I just caught a stack of 24 interceptors on the ground, in the first round of combat, my ground units killed 13 of them for no apparent loss. Then I ran a bombing raid against the remaining 11 and wiped them out in one round. That's how it should be, thanks guys!

Looks like I spoke too soon!
I caught a stack of 17 AI bombers on the ground with a tank division. I just came back this morning to find my tank division has been WIPED OUT by the bombers, having lost a total of ELEVEN regiments! The bomber squadron has lost ONE regiment.
I have this problem too. It took me 8 hours just to kill 2 interceptors with 6 of my units including: 1 med tank, 3 light tanks, and 2 infantry. This problem is becoming ridiculous, it really slows down my advance when it comes to taking occupied airfields.Joe Bentleigh wrote:

I think in my next campaign I am just going to build bombers and use them as ground units!
I just lost three tanks and an armored car trying to catch 6 interceptors and 5 TBs on the ground. So the issue isn't fixed yet.
I think the combat mechanics at play are: How much damage does an aircraft take when it attacks ground units? If this is the case, the attacking ground units are, in effect, causing the aircraft to "attack" (provide ground support to land units which don't exist) and will continue to do so until its morale & fuel will eventually cause it to "crash".
[Edit: I'm currently waiting for ground troops to kill a plane...going well...bring AA to the battle]
When planes are on the ground, they become super OP. I lost some LT(I think) to one int I caught on the ground.
Well, the bug must occur only to some people, because it doesn't happen to me.
