Well, those are Non-Core Provinces, or provinces you invaded in the past or their set like that.
Basically those lines tell you thats not your mainland, and will give you a -75% Resource reduction.

Visual bug of lines appearing across my map
For some reason these lines keep appearing on my screen. Sometimes it shows that it's the US, sometimes the lines are just white.

I'm talking about the big blue line running across the map implying that the US is going to come across my lands. It wasn't happening in the first place, and if it was it there aren't any completely straight paths in the game.
I know how non-core provinces work.

Well, might be someone invading you or peacefully moving, but will attack you, are you allies with them?
