Why do mods no longer send a PM giving reason for ban?

A few of my friends got Perma banned out of nowhere from chat by a certain who I will not name because I don't wanna call out TheCaptainBlood but that's okay, right?

Anyways, They have told me that they are yet to receive one of those PMs mods send giving reason for ban...

---------Is this a new thing? I have read the recent updates but I don't see anything about mods and bans or change in ToS and such, so what the hell is going on?

Like, if you have no reason to ban somebody, then don't ban randoms just for fun. If you're a mod who does this, then you should be ashamed of yourself and you must be fired immediately.
