I had this come up a little over a year ago. As I understand it, you can only heal a partner’s troops with gold you bought. Or at least that is how an alliance mate explained it to me.

You don't have enough Goldmarks
Me and my coalition member are in a tough battle. He had a stack of really damaged units so I wanted to use gold to heal them a bit. I don't normally use gold but this is an excaption. So I click the confirmation button, but then a notice pops up that says 'you don't have enough goldmarks to use this premium action' but I have almost 200k gold stored up. Is this a server connection issue, or does it have to do with the ranks and stats resetting bug, does the gold reset temporarily too as well?

Dumb question...but do you have a premium account?
If not...that is why you can't heal a partner's units....maybe
