PL October game questions

I'm in the dark about NUSA's post too, so I'm trying to figure out what he was talking about. Unfortunately he didn't respond to that.

There has never been an "Outide Administrator" to the PL, I have taken over modding it since january this year but I also play it myself. I try to be honest about this, and keep my "modding hat" and my "player hat" separately as much as possible, but I'm not perfect either. So far, there haven't been much complaints about this possible conflict; but with keyadoria's post, maybe they start? Again, I have no idea what he is talking about, and I hope he will elaborate.

As for gold checks, this is a manual operation that I cannot perform myself; one of the "higher ups" in staff does it for me (us). I have to request it, and since these people are always very busy, sometimes the request cannot be handled in time. As is stated in the rules, accidental gold clicks must be reported to me in which case a relatively mild penalty is applied; when unreported gold use is found, the penalty is much harsher (banning). Hiowever, since the gold script is only run a few times every month, gold use is not discovered immediatly, but days later. In that period, other players may have suffered severly from the actions of the gold player. Even when he is banned, game play is disrupted and scarred. So when people are suspecting gold use by an opponent, sometimes they request an extra gold check (with me) to reduce the disruption and ban a culprit earlier. I never comment on if these checks are run or not (but they ARE run and if you use gold you WILL be caught before the round is finished!); but anon messages are obviously not a very nice way to ask for this.

My understanding from the Senior Game Operator when I was running a Community Event was that staff at Bytro (not the volunteers who help run the show) frowned upon Gold Checks and it is a time consuming affair for very busy staff.

Using Gold could lead to someone having a unit almost immediately it became available for research i.e. a gold user pays gold to accelerate research and has it 36 hours or so before anyone completes research. He may then start to spam that unit using gold to accelerate the production times. So imagine when Day Change comes along, you can research medium tanks cos thats the day it becomes available and you start your research. Then you realise that your opponent has completed his research and spammed 5 brand new medium tanks whilst you've only completed 5 minutes of research.

Or your opponent produces 30 light tanks on day 2 by the above methods.

sometimes you see building being completed ahead of time. So if you see a level 2 airfield on Day 2 you know something is being paid for using gold.

I posted this article. Problem is, that "somebody" offer "administrator" title to ulun64 (S.USA. in game) in a "guild" called Fighting Club, if he attack me. I think this "out game trade" isnt fair. And another pity thing happend, but no problem i'm countinue playing with honor, as always did.

Well that was rather enlightening, thank you all for the answers. As someone who's been gaming since the Commodore 64, Atari 2600, and mall video arcade days I've pretty much seen and heard all of it. Most of this thread falls squarely under the title of "get your facts straight before you accuse".

If you are going to make an accusation such as this in a public forum, which includes the in-game forum "World Herald", you had better make sure you know the truth of the matter first. Making such an allegation in the absence of such proof is basically the same thing as spreading false rumors about someone you don't like, or in this case, whom you believe "paid" for an attack on you. In many games that is considered a personal attack and a TOS/TOU violation that can get you banned from playing that game.

Lets not forget that this is in fact a game, something we play for fun and enjoyment. It's all to easy to get wrapped up in that moment's competition and lash out at someone with malice and intent to harm. That is also a clear violation of a games TOS/TOU. We should keep from detaching ourselves from the human race in our rush to "win at all costs". The person you are falsely accusing isn't just a name on a screen, it's another person whom you are attempting to cause harm to.. and that's just wrong plain and simple.

No worries about your English skills, I give you credit for trying actually. I can't speak in anything but English so I commend you on being multi-lingual. If I need to say something in another language I always have to Google Translate in order to do so, with sometimes laughable results.

On the matter of the gold use, I understand how it works and why it's bad.. my only unanswered question would be how we find out someone has been banned.. or do we? Like most other games I'm sure there is a prohibition about discussing the results of an investigation, but how do we know that the guy protecting your southern border is no longer there?

I think i understand Keyadoria's issue.

1. His attack on South USA was not relevant to his issue.

Therefore the issue he raised in not ridiculous as it concerns an outside party contacting south USA player ulun and offering him a position as moderator in an alliance if he attacks Keyadoria in the PL game. Hence this third party would have knowledge of the location of Keyadoria and Ulun on the map.

Ulun obviously told keyadoria this in confidence during the PL game. Fighting Club has 1 member who is also the leader called Atchy66 so the offer was clearly ridiculous, but based on Ulun's reply in thread I strongly suspect such a conversation did take place ( in confidence perhaps).

So you cannot dismiss Keyadorias claim or Issue. You should in fact question Ulun and find out if such an offer was made, and more importantly if he communicated such a scenario to Keyadoria for whatever reason.If a third party did interfere in a PL match i would imagine that is something that should be discouraged rather than dismissed in such an offhand way.

FInally,Being real for a moment. Of course you can encourage rivalry outside the game and have pet grudges, and openly announce you are going to get another player rekt. This is all acceptable banter, however to offer an inducement for another player to attack another during a PL game would be improper and cheating and Tonya Harding style of cheating by taking out Nancy Kerrigan with a baton.

It is likely a knee jerk reaction by Keyadoria to mere banter but it could be also be that someone tried to have Keyadorias knees broken. Someone ( for example Shawn Eckardt) may have tried to conspire with Ulun and ulun was the better man and said no. He wasn't going to break Keyadoria knee's. Maybe there was bet a on the game, and Atchy66 stood to make a profit if Keyadoria fell during a beilmann spin.

I certainly would feel hurt if someone was conspiring against me in a manner such as Tonya Harding style of cheating.

In Summary since chaoswarlord opened the thread. It is unfair to blame this on Keyadoria, when ULUN has all but admitted that just such a conversation occurred. Keyadoria didn't raise the issue in this thread, chaos did.

And it transpires such a conversation did actually occur. So rather than bash Keyadoria, we should really be asking ULUN what exactly was the conversation and did it concern fighting club. Was he solicited by to assassinate Keyadoria and her/his dreams of being a Gold medalist.

Ulun, we must infer that just such a incident did occur and wonder what you have to say to dispels these inferences.

Also no doubt miscommunication is a big factor here.

Leaving it to Ulun64 to clear this up and if he truly cares about peoples reputations perhaps he could help Keyadoria's reputation.

omg, I just realized what you guys are talking about and you have wild imaginations. Ulun was telling me about his match in skype and that Keya was attacking him. He was bragging about how he always kills his enemies and they made a mistake for attacking him instead of letting him join coalition. I jokingly said I would make him moderator in our alliance if he managed to take out NUSA and Canada. Basically, I was suggesting that it was extremely unlikely he could do that and it had zero to do with some kind of crazy idea of trying to target keya. In reality I was doing my best to try and convince him to negotiate with them to avoid an early war. You're all nuts.

Keyadoria got it all wrong...It's not about attacking him but to beat him back for attacking me. There is no such deal as attacking Keyadoria. Keyadoria didn't clarify the whole thing and started to jump into his own conclusions. When I mention Moderator. I didn't elaborate any further. So Keyadoria make his own assumptions. It's not an important issue. Keyadoria really breach my newly cemented friendship with him. I will be extra careful with him when I talk to him in the future. I hope he don't go any further as what I told him is highly sensitive. It's between me and him only.

I left Fight Club and it's my personal decision and I do not want to reveal exactly what happen. Just let's this pass on and it's a non issue.

So i produced 4/5 or more subs since day 1 and it is now Day 7, whereas you only started building your first naval base on start of DAY 5 and have 6 subs and 1 destroyer in a little more than 2 days.

Also you researched subs and destroyer since DAY 5 !

I fail to see how my actions are suspicious just because you left it to DAY 4/5 to start research and production of subs and DD's.

DO YOU CHAOSWARLORD CONFESS TO HAVING NO PORTS UNTIL end of DAY 4 start of DAY 5.

In front of all these witnesses explain yourself. DO you admit to having ZERO SUBS on DAY 4 and having produced no subs until well into DAY 5..perhaps even Day 6.

Which would mean in 36 hours you produced as many subs as i produced in 7 days, and you also in that time researched and produced a DD ( destroyer).

ADMIT this is in the ball park of true.. and hence if anyone should be suspicious it should be me.

Whilst this was indeed banter and tongue in cheek at that, there is no Question that Keyadoria feelings were hurt and his comment in the newspaper was justified and is innocent of the blame attributed to him in this thread which he had no hand or part in but was started by chaoswarlord.

My apologies to you Keyadoria for being wrongly blamed for something you were innocent of.
